I had just had one land on my neck when I posted that. Then when you grab it to throw it off you, it stinks, so then you have to wash both your hand and your neck. And you're lucky if it doesn't bite you. Horrible little creatures!

Wish I could say my GC did not get a scam phone call that scared her so badly she had a panic attack!

And I wish I could say that when I told her it had been a scam, she believed me! She did believe the sheriff's deputy, when SHE said it was a scam, though. Thank goodness.


These people claimed to be from the DOJ in TX and said they had found a package containing large quantities of drugs and $42,000 in cash, with her name and address on it in their investigation of a drug dealing and money laundering scheme. They talked about prosecuting her if she couldn't clear her name. She was absolutely terrified and completely convinced she was talking to DOJ officers. After she got off the phone I tried to convince her the DOJ does not operate this way, that if they had this evidence they would carefully build up a case against her and then show up here with a warrant for her arrest. We called our local sheriff and that is exactly what they told us: that it is a scam, to block the number, hang up if they call back. And we alerted her bank to watch for any weird activity.
