Thinking of downsizing...

I'm thinking of downsizing my peafowl. I think I want to keep my India Blue pair, and sell my white pair. I don't even know where to begin. Like how much would I even ask for my white pair? The are mated, and successful. My male is 4 this year, and his mate is 3.

I don't want to give them away, and I don't wanna not get enough for them....

Plus I'm super nervous about where they would be going. Protective mama! Any suggestions on anything would be appreciated.

I know around here peafowl range from 200-1000 depending on what they (color age etc) are but most are in the 200-400 range.

I suggest $500 given age, color and their breeding success

If you were NPIP and clean flock certified and you could ship across state lines you could get $500 to $600. Having to sell locally you will be doing fine to get $400. A good price is a price that makes both the seller and the buyer happy.

Go shopping for a similar pair as if you were in the market, see what others are posting in your area. check the previously mentioned backyardchickens.com's buy/sell/trade "Other Poultry - Birds & Hatching Eggs" tread (also check around craigslist, facebook groups and other sale sites you know about). I eventually want some peafowl, and adults run 150 each at the very minimum no matter the color here in Texas.
