~*Third Annual Cinco de Mayo Turkey Hatch-Athon*~ all poultry welcome!

Yay! You got turkey biz-ness!

YAY!!! I cant wait for the eggs now. I check 2-3 times a day lol. I keep telling myself any day now. Soon Ill be swimming in turkey eggs, I cant wait.

Who all here has already started getting eggs?

I've been getting eggs from my slates & palms for over a month. Took about 2 weeks to be fertile.

I shall go insane waiting til time to candle this batch! Since it has my 1st turkeys and a few EE eggs from a pullet I got last weekend who had been with an EE rooster, so I kept the 1st 3 eggs she laid me! :)

I hate to admit this, but with the new incubator, I only candle once, at day 18, and toss the clears. Did I mention, I love this bator?!

I candle more often than that... since I have so many eggs in any given month that I incubate.. space can be limited (even with 6 incubators).. so incubating clear eggs just takes up space that fertile eggs could be using.. lol

plus hand turning 300+ eggs 5 times every day gets a bit time consuming..

even worse when I have each incubator packed to capacity,,, (1800 eggs when I lose my mind and pack them all)...

WHat bigger birds?? what is bigger than a toulouse?? Wait . . . I think you mean they get older and therefore bigger . . . . .

I was shocked to see the enormouse size of the geese at the Northeast POultry congress. HUGE birds. Like a stuffed toy for a child bed huge!

( brain tossing ideas around and around . . . . .)

My Turkeys are getting down to business

Hes also training to be in the Circus, I caught him practicing his balancing act

The Circus might not want his act though. Because he fell.
ROFL the girls are so patient and the boys are soo slow!!!! lol I watched my pair to see if they could get the job done-- male took so long other male interupted and claimed a turn, only he was across the hen and under the original tom. . . not gonna work that way!!
