~*Third Annual Cinco de Mayo Turkey Hatch-Athon*~ all poultry welcome!

How fast do geese grow out for eating??

that depends on which breed and how fat you want them.. the average drake (Embden or Toulouse) that we have had has gotten to about 10 pounds in 10 weeks...

bigger birds allow for more time.. but after about 17 weeks the growth slows down and they start adding on more fat.. which is great if you want the extra fat for cooking..

You could easily hatch out a few in Spring and have them ready for Christmas dinner.. butchering time would be when the pin feathers won't be an issue and you feel that they are meatie enough for the table..

(granted a lot has to do with how much you feed them.. lol)

Hes also training to be in the Circus, I caught him practicing his balancing act

The Circus might not want his act though. Because he fell.

Is it the 1588?

I believe the light will blink often. because its regulating the temp, even to a . of a degree. So I think the light will go on and off often.

Yes the 1588. It isn't going off though, just constantly blinking. Idk how long I'm supposed to let it sit before I set eggs. The instructions said to let it sit an hour and the light would begin to blink when it was "nearly to set temp", but its been blinking for hours. Maybe it just links constantly. Idk!! Lol
