~*Third Annual Cinco de Mayo Turkey Hatch-Athon*~ all poultry welcome!

Meyers is pretty good about stuff like that. I had 30 chicks die in transit last March. All frozen to death. I called and originally got just some customer service lady who said all she could do was give me a credit towards a new order and not even refund my shipping. I got a call later from someone who actually had power to do something and she gave me a full refund. I ordered from somewhere closer because I was worried about frozen babies again until it was nice and warm out, but I am still kinda bummed (a year later) about my little bantie welsummers who died in that shipment. They are one of the breeds I have wanted more than any others and I have not been able to get them since.
that's a bummer i'm am a bit worried about over heating we have been having 90 plus weather but wow all of them? that sucks so bad i'm sorry for your loss

If you were near me, I'd sell you as many chicks or fertile hatching eggs as your heart desired :) I have a chicken math problem and I also have a hatching addiction. And I have bantam blue egg layers. The closest I'll be to where you are is Arkansas in a couple weeks, but that's not really close.
That would be awesome if it were possible but i haven't had work close to Arkansas in months so bummer

but it's OK it looks like things are finally looking up so I'm happy either way

My CDM hatch was more like ODM as I didn't set my eggs until Thurs of that week, under broody turkey hens. Although they still technically have two days to go, there were multiple pips when I checked under them tonight. Its not my first turkey rodeo but it will be my first time watching turkey hens raising the poults so I am pretty excited that they will soon be underway.

awesome i hope everything goes well

So, 40 chicks and 5 poults - even though the poults were killed.
That's my final number.  ;)
I love that avatar! The snood is my most favorite thing on the poults. Other than them being so curious and fun! Do they all make the sing songy cheeping?

I was searching the for sale forums for poults and bantams. I was looking at all the beautiful birds and thinking how wonderful it would be to see them in my yard. Then I see pics of these beautiful blue eggs and I think- what's more important? The chicken or the egg? And I cracked myself up! I accidentally got philosophical.
