So my new Dog Aries, a 100 lb Husky Mix, ran past me today and got into my backyard, where my cat is. They started fighting, and I ran over and grabbed up the cat, so they would stop. That was probably my first mistake, next time i'll go for the dog. Anyway, the dog started circling me and the cat FREAKED. I now have little puncture marks all over my upper torso and my right bicep as well as three nice horizontal slices across my right wrist.

I so much prefer dogs to cats!!!

Thanks for listenning.

Cat bites and scratches can get HORRIBLY infected out of nothing. I recommend getting antibiotics from a doctor of you got puncture wounds from one.

My wife is a nurse, when I got inside she put all this stuff on it, not sure what it was, but one of them burned and turned the wound pink.

I love my kitties.....but yeah, they can inflict some damage. Never grab a freaked-out cat if you can't immediately wrap it in a towel--and be darn careful then!

I learned the hard way not to get in the middle of critter disputes--tried to break up a dog fight by sticking my foot in the middle of it and got a nice deep puncture on my calf for my troubles. Now I use other implements (like vacuum cleaners) to break up fights.

I only had two impliments handy, one was my hat, which was thrown, and the other was my .45, and I wasnt about to use that. My dog, Aries, is a big dog, he can almost look me in the eye if he stands on his hind legs, and I'm 6'02", and hes not even a year old.

I am not a cat person either. My neighbor feeds a huge feral colony. Somehow, the creatures wander down the hard road to my house. ICK!!!. I use to have a Golden that would just make friends with the nasty creatures, even letting them sleep in her shed in the straw with her. She died last summer from old age. Thankfully my present dogs, an Anatolian and a pyr, aren't friendly to strange cats. I was glad to see the cats "ease on down the road" to where they came from. Some of the kittens are beautiful, but I prefer to admire them from a distance.

If they're bad, you must go to the hospital. I got bitten on the thumb badly by a strange cat, and had to go to the ER as it had no tags. They gave me some shots, but 2 days later I was in there with blood poisoning from the bites.

I had no insurance, so the bill was $800, and it hurt like hell. I'm never touching a stray cat again!

You should never attempt to grab any animal while it's fighting.

In this case, I wouldn't blame the cat. It sounds like the dog started it. If it ran past you into the yard where the cat was, it was probably going after the cat.
