So Thor is 5 months old... I'll see if I can get some pictures of mine that are that age. I really hope that we're wrong and you have a pair!Calypso hatched out August 6, Thor hatched out July 16. I still hope Thor is a male that way I have a breeding pair for breeding at to show this year at Canyon County Fair.
Not enough barring on the back and wing feathers and too much white on the breast feathers, but I'm no expert, lol, this is my first year raising more than just a few chicks. Why do you guys think Thor is a female?
The person I bought Thor and Calypso from also believes Thor is a male. Though the person I got them from doesn't know much about sexing peafowl but his family has been raising them for a long time. Being around them gets you used to what this happens when you do this and what happens when you do this. Him telling me he believes Thor is a male and the way I sexed him tells me he's a male is good enough for me.
The lack of wing and shoulder barring is the biggest give away. The white and white lacing on the breast is the second give away. Why do you guys think Thor is a female?
Just curious, how does that affect their coloring?I think what we will decide is that Thor is a spalding and heavy on the green genes.
I saw a picture earlier that showed a lot of richness in the neck coloring. Lots more green/yellow than a regular IB. From the pictures of Calypso it also looks like her crest is pretty vertical and brighter although I will admit the pictures are not conclusive.Just curious, how does that affect their coloring?
