Now that there are new crest quills in place the feathers are the way they should be. Also the dog carrier they jump on there are icicles behind me when I took the pictures so when they fly on top of the carrier or flying off they hit them.

Because the green can effect the color arrangements. Thank you casportpony for hoping that I have a pair and for the pics. You helped me a ton because Calypso has a spotted breast just like the one female you have with the spotted breast helps because I've never seen a spotted breast on the hen before. The last pics of the female look just like Calypso but bigger and the first pic of the male looks like Thor but better color on the neck. I couldn't get a could pic of Thor's neck because he kept laying down and trying to keep himself warm so I just took the wing picture and went on my way. He's really friendly so he should make an excellent show bird. Thor has no green genetics. The person I got Thor from keeps records by having all his hens penned and lets in only one male in at a time. He told me that both his parents are pied. The other male peachick he had had lots of barring but on his back there was no white spots and I wanted a male that has both color and white in his train. Those 5 eggs I had earlier this year died on me the one peachick I did hatch out died within a week. I thought game bird pellets would be good nutrition for the parents and I have a mortar and pestle to crush pellets up into powder but the chick had one leg with toes that were locked together and my aunt who is a vet told me she's seen it before with turkey and ostriches and it turned to be not enough protein so now I have Colbolt, Jadea, Thor and Calypso all on medicated game bird feed. The person I bought Thor and Calypso from said medicated game bird feed works the best.
Here she is. Her name was Coco. Or she could have died because she hatched out 25 days after being layed. I guess where her egg was at heated her up enough but not cooking her. My incubator is at 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Here's Thor's wing. He is now getting feathers with barring and he has the orange primary feathers. The primary feathers was what made me believe he is a boy. Now that the barring is finally coming in it is making me believe he is a boy.

These are some of my girls, they hatched out in may and june or july .you can click on the photo and then the orgional and see their coloring alot better.

I also hope you have a pair but from what little bits i see in photos everything points to female in my head.

Beautiful girls Zaz. I see how when looking at your hen and then looking at Thor how you can see that Thor is a female. I'm still sticking with my gut though and what I see and I see a boy so I'm going to keep with that. Though the female did have a female primary feather and there is a dark brown towards the shaft of the feather. You can tell a little bit though it could throw anybody seeing the orange feathers. But when you look at the right side it is just like a peahen. Thor and Calypso's wings are the same on both sides.

When I look back at all of the photos I have of Thor, the wings show that of a male just with white near the shaft ever since I've had him his wing has been like that.

I Think purple peacock lack the barring like the IB , no barring is what makes me say male when you called them IB pieds
I have some IB pied younguns around the same age as yours i will post up some photos of both sexes. i just don't want you to get to breeding season and find you have 2 females and no male.
it would be nice to see some more photos of you pretty cause really it has been a challenge to try and put the bits togeather when a whole body shot front, back sides and icycles LOL would be nice.

Calypso destroyed all of the icicles. The brace I have is going to need to be bigger before July because they will be big and their claws are sharp. When I first got him I would put Thor on my arm and shoulder without a tether and he wouldn't go anywhere until I let him out into the giant world then he wanted to see what a car was so he flew on to my truck. Same went with Calypso. I just got to make sure I have them tethered. I'm going to build them a larger pen that is attached to my barn that way they don't get snow in the pen unless they go out. Colbolt, Jadea, Thor, and Calypso are in the same area I just have Thor and Calypso locked outside because I have chickens with my IB peacocks. I use my chickens for eggs so they need the nesting boxes inside and there is a roof over Thor and Calypso but depending on which direction the snow or rain comes from is how dry or wet they'll get. I still have Colbolt. He's three years old but he's an IB so if I were to breed him to Calypso I would get an IB or Pied but barely any white. I'm sure I do have a breeding pair. I know you guys think Thor is a girl but I believe he is a boy and nothing has swayed me. Just something tells me Thor is a boy and then this sense tells me look his wings show the sign of the male and his neck is getting a little blue. Don't pay attention to the back if there is any barring it will come when he is older.
Colbolt and Jadea. IB peafowl. They are 3 years old. This is as close as I can get to these 2. They are very skittish.

I love Thor and Calypso so much, when I work with them I pet them on the back and before I leave I give them a kiss and tell them I love them. I'm sure I will take lots of pictures of Thor and Calypso along with me in them of course. They are my babies. They are like a son and daughter to me just like my Fawn & White Indian Runner ducks Kenia and Kida. Kenia and Kida have had 4 babies. I know this is about peafowl but I think everybody should see my ducks and their babies.
Kida is on the left and Kenia is on the right, and their babies behind Kida. Kida hatched them out all by herself!

Beautiful peas and i love the ducks set up i can tell you love them

I learned threw the last few years that peas are much easer to tame outside the pen when i purchased already hatched peachicks, this year i finely hatched my own and they are all pest, it will be very hard to part with some of them but i have more than i need or want running around here.

They are beautiful! They seem really friendly! Are all of those peafowl in the second pic males? Or at lest the IB Pieds on the right? Because I saw 3 peafowl on the right that didn't have barring on the shoulder and the one peacock still had a green neck but it was going blue along with the head. I'm going to take a pic of Thor and Calypso again because Thor is getting some blue or green like quills across his head when I was doing chores today. He's getting a little bit more barring but his shoulders still aren't as barred like Colbolt's shoulders but the secondary feathers above his primaries are getting barring. I think he's just one of those peacocks that isn't maturing as fast. I think the reason why he's late is because he will be so beautiful when he's older. Also I'm training Thor and Calypso. So far it's doing good. When I do certain whistles they respond differently. I use one to say there is food and one to try and get their attention.

When I call their names they look at me and try to see what I have for them. I hope I can get them to know their names so well I can yell Thor and Calypso and have them come to me just like Kenia and Kida do. After I show Thor and Calypso I plan on having it so they are free range during the day and locked up at night. I'm hoping that when I call them like that they will come to get in the barn for the night. Or I might just keep them locked up. Since peafowl are part of the pheasant family and were once used as game birds my dad wants me to raise some so he can try peacock. I might keep these 4 peafowl locked up so I don't have to worry about them getting used for meat purposes. In my opinion I don't want to loose any of them for that reason I rather just raise their young and sell them to people. Idaho doesn't have a single hatchery that I know of that sells peafowl you have to buy them from people so I'm sure I might be able to make a little money or at least have fun raising and selling the chicks.
