5 out of 7 of my one year olds layed that i know of, it was my first time nest hunting with peas, none were fertile as my oldest male was a month into his molt.
The next year all 4 yearlings layed and all 7 of 2 year olds layed fertile eggs.

Also those 1 year olds only layed 1 clutch and stopped.
......if you live in warmer areas, one year olds develop faster and might lay some eggs of which some might be fertile.

I have definitely had some fertile one year old eggs here in NW Florida but very few. A lot of my one year olds will lay a few eggs after the primary breeding season when the males have lost their trains.

Yea that is what i kinda figured and genetic also case as i posted earler i had 3 males from the same hatch that has the same few dinky feathers and then this year the 2 i have left have a beautiful full train and they will be hitting 3 in aug of this year.

I am going to hatch 24 Guinnie eggs from a friend. The eggs are from 3-4 year old hens that I know are fertile. They will start laying next month. I am going to try out my incubator on them before I use it on your peafowl eggs. I have hatched before with great results, but never with a automatic incubator.

I have found Guinea eggs to be very very easy to hatch here, like i get 10 to 12 duds out of 242 eggs i incubate at a time if i remember right.

I was going to say it might be genetically or the area around you that helps. I will be suprised too if Calypso lays this year. I'm going to build an individual pen for Thor and Calypso when ever we're going to have a good long time of warm weather.

My birds free range, guineas are communal layers like chickens they will sit together with other types of fowl also and i am real good at finding nest i collected those 350 plus eggs in 4 days, i have sence downsized cause i had a feeling winter was gonna give us a good spanking and i was right, i kept 35 but that 35 can put me back to 400 in one season and i do not have that much
winter forage, plus i kinda saturated the area

there are guineas all around this area i saw some running down the side of the road in our little town and figured they probably come from my place as they were a mixed flock .
