......if you live in warmer areas, one year olds develop faster and might lay some eggs of which some might be fertile.5 out of 7 of my one year olds layed that i know of, it was my first time nest hunting with peas,none were fertile as my oldest male was a month into his molt.
The next year all 4 yearlings layed and all 7 of 2 year olds layed fertile eggs.
Also those 1 year olds only layed 1 clutch and stopped.
I have definitely had some fertile one year old eggs here in NW Florida but very few. A lot of my one year olds will lay a few eggs after the primary breeding season when the males have lost their trains.
