Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Wow, you all were chatty today.

I have 5 babies in the brooder now. The last one in the incubator has finally absorbed her yolk, now I'm letting her sit overnight so her belly button can close. I'm fairly optimistic about her still, she has lots of energy and is looking good for having such a rough start. So hopefully by tomorrow night maybe all 6 ducklings will be in there and my incubator empty. And I'm leaving it empty for a few weeks, I don't want too many babies to take care of at once. Maybe in another month I'll start looking for something else to hatch.

They are already messy. I am really really hoping brooding them and the goslings together works out good, and that the weather gets nice enough that they can go outside soon. My 2 big ducklings are driving me nuts with their mess, these guys plus the geese are going to be way worse.

But they are so freaking cute that I don't mind yet.
