Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I've been wanting a few breeds to make my stock complete. So I'm trying to hold off on getting anything right now so I can get them for the Easter hatch. It's just going to be tricky with the timing of the whole thing.

I just contacted my mortgage agent.. Fingers crossed. Hubby gave me the go ahead to sell ours. We've been talking about forever. I'm like... "Are we on the same page? Because we either need to poo or get off the poo pot."..

He just knows what a headache it will be. Ya'll know the deal. Showing a house with 3 kids!?! Really? Yes... good times.

Utah: Hmm.. I'll try to get a pic. Tonight when it's dark. Awesome buyer for the babies. The guy that bought my cochins (and made me chickenless) takes pics and sends them too me. He's going to give me hatching eggs so I can hatch grandchickies.

Marty: You're apparently supposed to take them out of the bator for a certain amount of time each day starting on day 8 so they can cool off. I know... it's weird.

I love grandchickies (and granddogs)!

Well, our geese always left the nest for a swim, even sitters, for probobly 15 minutes, so It seems reasonable. If they are under 1/3 theres, I think I'd mark the egg with a pencil to show the current area, and then check back in a week, unless the egg shows any negative signs (smell, hairline cracks from swelling, etc..)

Adventrues in hatching! Just when we figure out one species, off we go to try our hand with another. Hmmm....maybe I should order an emu!

Good. Pics are helpful!

So, I really need to put a leg band or something on Twist to identify her. Her symptoms are not always obvious and both hubby and I were quite worried we got the right duck into the keeper pen. We mostly identify her by volume, as she is the loudest of the bunch. About 75% of the time, she does the weird throw head back when drinking water thing, so we watch and watch and watch until we see it to make 100% sure. There's got to be an easier way.

my muscovies can't make up their minds if they want to stay on the nest or not. But someone has added feathers to the straw and shavings.

I went to the Eureka Poultry Fair on Saturday and it was fun. I saw a lot of cool birds. My husband even wants to get some BEIs after seeing them in the show.

I can't do the easter hatch since I don't have an incubator (except if the ducks decide to go broody) and I will be going to Seattle for the Sakuracon Anime convention with my girlfriends
