Marty, I would love more duck eggs! My I have those welsh coming, and some goose eggs. And duckies coming next month. Im all set :D thanks though hun!

So sorry DG. Parents can sometimes be hard to understand at times.

Sorry I disappeared earlier. I was at work....bosses and such....

I tried getting pics of candling, but my cell phone didn't work very well. So I float tested about 30 minutes ago and they were all dead.

No happy campers here. Now we have to start over, but can't get any eggs until I get paid again.

That also puts me at 2 of 69 eggs hatched, with only 1 survivor, a serama chick.

the same thing happened to me last week.
i had set 21 eggs the begining of the month.
only 2 developed.
they died 2 days before lockdown

Do you think so?? I don't know anyone with Partridge Cochins. Should I get the bantem or regular size? I know they are good sitters, I had three while my mom and dad were gone for 5 weeks, and one actually sat a nest and hatched out baby cochins from under my giant quince bush! I was SO shocked!

bantams for sure
i love ours !

That would be good indeed!

I just didn't something really stupid. I was getting ready to candle my turkeys again, when the littlest one needed me urgently, so I put the egg in an empty spot (there aren't many) and shut the lid. Turns out, the thermostate or something crunched a wee spot in the egg, since i put it in the middle (which I avoid with large eggs when the turner is in). I don't think it broke the membraine, but theres a baby in it, and I don't want to lose one of my halfway+ eggs!
