Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

OK, Sorry I don't have time to catch up with everyones comments!

I have 2 dead teenage chicks. I'm not sure what happened. One blue laced wyn looks like it was at the bottom of the pile. One Auburn Java looks like it just layed down and died.

Thoughts??

I'm getting ready to access #2 Sebbie. I have left her alone since she's been rockin'.

The other 3 seem a bit... well, crusty. What can I do to help them fluff up? Or should I just leave them alone?

#2 seems a bit runty and clumsy compared to the others. 3 & 4 practically exploded out of their eggs and are full of energy, but 2 gets stuck on his back and cries a lot. 2 is also smaller.

OK, I pipped for #2 Sebbie and I'm glad I did. It's not really shrink wrapped that bad, but it had yolk around it's beak and it had pipped a vein. (not a big one, but there was blood on the membrane and beak)

This yellow, slimy, bubbley stuff was covering it's nares. I'm going to treat it like a duck and keep it moist.

Also, one vein left the size of .... oh like a mechanical pencil lead. Other than that it's absorbed.

Goosey #1 is coming out of the bator.

2 more javas hatched.

Busy day!!
