Srb - the only thing harder then waiting .... is convencing my hubby the baby is FINE

luckily mine has no interest in the incubator. He likes playing with the babies in the brooder though. The adult chickens have him whupped. He'll dig up worms for them, last summer he'd catch cicadas at night and trap them until morning and feed them to the girls. If he sees them at the front door he'll ask me for something to feed them. No wonder if no one is outside they hang out at the front door most of the day.

ok guys here he iss .
he is less than 6 hours old (not by much). at 4 pm he was ext. pipped and peepeing . at 8 pm. he was out and starting to dry. and it is now 10:30 pm and he is dry and fiesty.

i beleive he is going to be snowy. right celtic and julie??



he looks SOOOO tiny after seeing my 2 week old geese and normal sized ducks.

i do beleive this little one may have to stay here forever since he is my first ever hatch of my stock.
im think of calling him uno.

Julie, they are 5.5 weeks old now.

Good plan to wait to help, both of you. As I said, I have waited until the others hatch before helping.

Celtic, can't wait to see your new sebbie babies.

Hi everyone!

Hi new people!

Iain - your duck pen is a bit like ours! When a design works, stay after it.

Celtic - I hope they find out quickly whats going on with your DH, it is so stressful, I know. (I lost my first husband, but don't panic, we knew it was coming)

SM - I hope things go well for you tomarrow! please update us when you can.

I just set quail and turkeys. I marked air pockets on goose eggs. I was going to weigh them, but my didgital scale recused to come on. DH was too busy to see if he could fix it. (sigh) At least I know I can monitor air cell progress. Nice big fat eggs, those goose eggs. I'm expecting sebastopol goose eggs tomarrow, so I guess I'll set them with the Tolouse eggs tomarrow night.

i sure hope his brother/sister hatches out soon for him.

he's too tiny to go with the rugrats.
right now he has a stuffed ducky to snuggle with.



oh and i love your new duck pen.
showed it to the bf and he said he would build me one =)

so now my little ones can go outside easier.

just seems fitting since hes the first EVER out of my stock to hatch, and i have a feeling he will be a single hatchling of the clutch.
the other egg is not even internally pipped yet.
but i can still see movement.

I hope your Uno gets a Dose (sp?) becasue my Uno is FREAKING LOUD! If he's not being held, or hanging out with a baby quail, he just squeeks and squeeks endlessly. What is your baby? I mean, I know he's a duck and a little one, but what kind of little duck??

i feel bad i dont have anyone small enough for him and no more babies hatching out until the 21st ish.
so if his dose doesnt hatch he is gona be lonely.

right now he is in a box in the rugrats brooder so i only have 1 light goin and he wont be totaly lonely.
