Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

if these 3-4 have no progess by tonight should i ext pip for them??
im just worries i seen how teeny the one that hatcched with my hen was.
these guys have tiny beaks.

I ususally hatch Khakis and regular Pekings, and they aren't like quail, they come all at different times, except in very large hatches (of say 50) where many come in 24 hours. There is always a first, and a last (if your lucky) and one might have been closer to heat source, and is ready now. The ones toward the dead center can be slower. It just works that way for me. Perhaps this is the explanation.

I have some special Jumbo Pekings baking, and I'm worrying over them constantly. I really want them, and I've only 7 of 13 original eggs. Seems like every 3 or 4 days, one goes south. I don't lockdown until the 21st. My last hatch (turkeys and quail) went south after an egg blew up. As a result, I've started candling more. I've bleached, I used a new bator, I'm monitoring like every other die hard hatch addict. I think I'm gonna go have some leftover green beer.

i rotate them around daily like the hen would.
outside ones go in. and versa visa.
so none of them have been in the middle the entire time. but i guess some of them still could be a little bhind

It really is very exciting and addicting:) I am hoping to purchase a new incubator in the future. It will be such a relief if the babies are born within our makeshift one. My husband and I were not really prepared when momma duck, Natasha, decided to take a vacation from her nest. I have been focused on the little eggs ever since and really hope for a successful hatch:)

I have one zipping, 2 internally pipped, and 1 nosing at the membrane trying to internal pip. I have to go eat dinner at mil's soon, will report on them when I get back. At least it'll keep me out of the incubator a few hours.

well still no ext pips.

yes i just candled again. .

2 working very well on it i can hear them tapping the shell.
ihave 2 that i think died. 1 of which is the questionable 1.

i have 3 other eggs that have dipped air cells but i cant see a beak in them or anything moving (2 of which were int. pipped earlier) no more blood seen in the 1.

and the rest of the eggs DO NOt have a dipped air cell.
and i cant really tell if there is any movement.

so my question is . what the heck am i doing wrong.

Mine are big ducks. And their brothers and sisters that hatched a few days ago seemed to pop out like popcorn quail chicks.

Maybe I should keep a drake and keep breeding them. Start a breed of the fastest hatching ducks ever. Hatch in under 24 hours pip to zip on day 25.
