Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

shes feathering in fast then.
bcuz the girls are 4 weeks old. and are halways feathered.'

the ducks are more like 75%

If you say so. lol. You're probably right. I'm just anxious to see those pretty feathers.

I'm trying, QJ! It's just that the one baby definitely does not look to be turning right. It has made no progress up back of aircell and feels extra heavy at pointy end.

I know! It's hard when you want something SO bad. Actually it's just hard no matter what. Can you hear is pecking on the shell? The reason I ask is this.. I've noticed when they aren't really internally pipping, some of them I would listen and they would have already started trying to externally pip. So then I know they are wrong end pippers.

Julie: working on pics. I just went out there to take some and my camera died mid pic. Charging the batteries.

Update on goosies: My frontrunner african is getting ready to start tackling external pipping. My 1st 2 toulouse have caught up with my other african and are up in air cell, almost internally pipped. My 3rd toulouse egg has decided to ease my worries and begin moving towards air cell too. Whew! That baby still in the cooker, which has 45% humidity. The rest of the goosies are in the hatcher, but I'm still holding humidity in that one around 55%.

Awesome! Stress is relieved a tad. (just a tad)

Um.. I think that Bunsen figured out this morning that Little Eddie is a boy. All the sudden he won't let him near the ladies. It's funny. That poor little duck just doesn't fit in anywhere.

QJ, don't be disappointed with her first feathers, Sebbies don't instantly grow huge long flowing curls. By fall she should have nice feathering in and then next year will be her big molt and feathering. Our 2011 spring girls looked good late fall, look a mess right now during breeding season, and will look their best again this next fall. It is also normal in the spring time for their feathers to look awful and be ragged, just part of the process.

Fiona is also a smooth/curly breeding to help limit twisted wing tip hopefully.

I won't be disapointed with anything concerning this goose. She could have no feathers and I'd still love her! Such a personality! She is the hubby's favorite. (And that's saying a lot).

I just went out to pet her, she's freeranging in the yard right now, and she picks a dandelion and eats it. Then she gets this look on her face like, "YUM!" and runs to the next one, eats it, and now she's frantically running to anything yellow in the yard to eat it. I literally laughed out loud at her.

Celtci: Whatever happened with your Emu eggs? you might have said, but I miss posts on here for some reason.

Oh and did you get your eggs from Lisa? I have 2 out of 3 growing strong.

Dandelions are extremely nutritious! When my special horse was a baby, I'd take him for walks like a dog.... and we'd go dandelion hunting.

My oldest ducks and goslings discovered the joys of BOSS today. So cute!!
