Lucy who i adore with all of her deep curls

Pandora, another curly Sebbie (for any who may not know, curly or smooth is in reference to their chest feathers only)

oh and warning/advice/FYI, watermark your photos you share online. Never know where they might end up otherwise. Have had many a BYC member with photos stolen to use in ebay ads and on websites. Even one hatchery (more like middle man broker) took BYC member photos in the past.

Good eveining everyone!

Haven't had much time to keep up on online stuff this past week or so. Now I'm trying to take my mind off the fact that I'm starving and the ribs aren't done yet.

Remember how distressed I was that out of my trout runner eggs, only one of them looked trout? So I had accepted that I had a black duck with little white wingtips. Guess what? He/she's feathering in with mallard colors!

My appleyards are almost fully feathered. They still need their flight feathers and to lose that last bit of fluff on top of their heads. No indication of gender yet, but hubby's convinced we got two drakes.

My two poor quality swedish have gone to live with a friend of mine who has ducks, horses and various other livestock.

Trying to decide if I really want to suck it up and head down to the waterfront for live bands and fireworks after dinner.

Quackers, go enjoy and relax! YaY on the new feathers on your runner. I call the ring of fuzz on their heads old man head. Hope the ribs get done soon for you and you get to enjoy them. Our house is all asleep now. Military only got today off, no extra day off like in years past so the alarm clock will go off at 4:30 tomorrow morning.

Go get yourself some sleep!

Lucky me, I don't have to drag butt out of bed until 5:30. In farming, *if* you get a holiday off, it's usually followed by a make-up day. The only reason we got the day off is because the boss is sick of never having a day without employees around.

Hi Celtic, nice pics. Its good to see you again.

I was wondering when I didn't see you. Your are friend, and we are always happy to see you.

Hey GQ, good to see you too. Sounds like we are all early morning girls. I usually get up at 5-5:30, but the early light of dawn always wakes me up.

How was everyone Independence day? Ours was a bit out of sorts towards the end, but we managed to struggle through the last little bit. After a flawless evening, the very last big firework thing (a multi deal) sent off 2 of 15 rounds, before knocking itself over and flipping about with the next 13 shots. Big balls of fire hitting the old barn, the wood fence, started 3 different grass fires..... Just glad we talked with the girls about what their jobs in a fire were. Little one turned on the hose (which we had next to the launch pad) and she and I started on the wood fires while Dad and Ruth ran and started on the grass fires. We were barely able to get all fires out before someone called the fire department.

Barley (and all my dewlaps).

Jaz, thanks for sharing!!!! They all look so grown up already. I love looking at pics of your birds (pre-cooked lol).

Celtic, Lucy and Pandora are beautiful! Hope you had a relaxing 4th and hubby is doing ok.

Quackers, good to see you!!

Marty, sounds like your 4th was a little intense. Glad everything worked out ok! We are in a strict zero tolerance "no-firework" area. Even all the professional shows were canceled. But we had a lovely day boating on the lake with my hubby's family. It was a nice way to spend the holiday.

hi everyone. Jadzia,s eye is a little less cloudy today i think.

also my friend rescued a ducking from a cat so i am taking care of it. I am guessing mallard but don't know if it could be wild this late in the year.
