Hi everyone I have not been on here in a long time it looks like there are lots of very cute babies!!
I have a Question for Celtic do you have any experiences with Mandarin ducks?? I have been told over and over again that they will start nesting and laying in Feb/Mar but My girls just starting laying eggs about 5 days ago, and I conformed the first ones tonight in the incubator are fertile I can see Babies moving Are my Birds just odd or ???

Just hatched more Ancona ducks, and swedish flower hens. No pictures of the chicks, but did get some of the ducklings.

Chicks, how old are your Mandies? Ours are all sorts of frisky and we had to break up a fight in a pen we hadnt planned to split up yet, but now have to. We are putting nest boxes back in this weekend since they are showing such strong urges already.

Oh and the Ancona ducklings there are black and whites a chocolate and then either silvers or lavenders

If the mandarins breed and nest off season will it mess up their regular breeding season?

Julie i truly dont know. If you post in the ornamental area and ask kangababy and DestinDuck they have both had them longer than I have. I would trust their word as golden for ornamental questions. BoggyBottom is another good source

Thanks. I will, I doubt mine will do anything soon since they are still babies, but with the weird weather and everyone laying out of season I might want to find out.
