I know a couple of people with emus. They have funny personalities and are very prehistoric looking, especially their eggs and feet. They are also pretty fragile and can get stressed and have heart attacks easily.

Congrats on hatching eggs! I'm waiting for my geese to start laying or even get into breeding mode.......

Yes, emu do take a long hatch, but as somebody said, they are a little more preditor resistant. They can kick the bum of friend and foe alike.

I have been researching, and have learned alot. I plan on raising them in the house, with a small dog harness, handle their feet & legs alot. I found a pattern for Emu diapers

Jerry arranged to buy hatching eggs on the 1st

Buckeye Chickens and I'm getting 15 Icelantics eggs to hatch along with them.
Maybe the geese and ducks will be laying better by then.
Oh and I'm breeding the rabbits

then also so well have bunches of babies around here in March

I hatched Buckeyes, and are just gorgeous. I wish I would have kept some that I hatched, never had Icee's

They were just 7 weeks old in the pics, when I thought nothing could get cuter than a duckling or Gosling ~ Then I got piglets!!!! These will be around 80-120 pounds full grown. Vietnamese Pot bellies

We have New Zealand/ California cross good for dinner size
