That's the thing! I loaded it with salve so that it wouldn't stick, but it was bleeding and oozing. The next day I tried to tug at it and it was stuck in places where the "stuff" came through. Ugh.. it was so gross. But the soapy water is doing the trick.

I bet it stings!

I can tell it stings. But it's healing very nicely. Especially the part where the skin was detached. (gross!) I wonder if feathers will cover it in time...?

Yes!

I could be like.. "I don't know! This is SO WEIRD!!"

My husband was offered a job with a competitor in his field today.. anyway, long story short, he has accepted the position starting in January. So..... "our farm" is becoming more of a reality, because there was a significant pay raise involved.

I'm pretty excited. But I'm afraid to get too excited.. Know what I mean?

Ok, I'm excited. We've been looking anyway, but we're being picky about location. Wanting to be close to my parents and in the same school district.. You know the deal.

But my whole point is: I will have NO hatching restrictions on me at that point.

Well, she just flew in and you don't know where she came from. If hubby wants to go kick her out in the cold all alone right before Christmas then just go ahead, lol.

That is brilliant Julie

Maybe Santa brought her too...?... Unless he doesn't believe in Santa.. then that might not work. (Mine still believes in Santa.. I think.) LOL
