If SM's eggs can hatch 5 days early then yours can hatch 5 days late. If you're out of brooder room you can always give him to me...

Very true. SM and I have some interesting hatching experiences. Good grief. And I could give him to you! Luckily I'm not completely out of room yet. LOL!!!

They have grown so much I can't believe it. It seems like all they do though is eat and poop. They get to swim 3 or 4 times a day and man can they swim.

We have had interesting hatches. It seems so long ago that I had my first hatch and I was so nervous about what I was doing. I can't believe that little egg is finally trying to hatch now.

The one in the picture is my new one I am training myself. She is half Morgan and half Mustang (I call her my Mortang). I have a sorrel/white Paint mare (my dependable, calm horse when I want a nice relaxing ride), a Fox Trotter and a 30 year-old quarter horse, who is "retired". I saw that you have shown your Paint, and done quit well. I just do trail riding. That's was one of the reasons we moved from Iowa to Oregon - the great trails. The lack of snow, sub-zero temps and humidity were a bonus! LOL

YOU LIVED IN IA??? WHERE???

Council Bluffs

I don't know anything about hatching geese and turkeys, but what if they all hatch? That would be a lot of fuzzy butts! I am also doing the NYD hatch, but I only have 16 chicken eggs in the bator, and am hoping for maybe a 50% hatch.

Nine had a very, very rough ride with the good ole USPS.

I do have a plan ! I also live on HATCHERY ROAD ! My house was built in 1918 !~ Was milled on site & was a Fish hatchery 1st then it housed 10,000 chickens !!!! Now my whole upstairs of my barn is unused 10,000 square feet . So I am resurrecting I guess

Those good old wonderful barns. They sure don't builld them like that any move. It sounds like you have it covered (literally)! Good luck on your hatch.

NYD Hatch (New Year's Day) is a tread under "Incubating and Hatching" or something like that. A bunch of people all put eggs in their bators (or under broody hens) on Dec. 11th, (week earlier for ducks), etc. to hatch out on New Year's Day. There are contests, etc. and basically a bunch of hatchaholics.

Almost 3500 eggs were set, so it's been really fun, interesting and educational, to say the least. They are going to have an Easter Hatch also.

By the way, how is your toe/foot doing? You seem to be getting around pretty good, but you don't want to overdo it.
