And what's wrong with their feet.

Good morning, duck hatching friends.

Today is day 26... day 27 starts at 6:00pm. Still no sign of anything happening with my little cayuga egg. I keep trying to tell myself that it will be ok if it does not hatch, as I have 12 eggs growing great on day 11 in my store bought bator. But, it is killing me to not open the homemade bator and candle egg to see if beak has broken through air cell. Ugh!

If it hasn't pipped and you can get the humidity back up it won't hurt to candle.

I candle all the time until external pips, then I manage to keep my hands off the incubator.

DG- Do the adults have that hoof rot thing? Does it keep the babies from getting it if they aren't on the same pasture? I know nothing about sheep, other than they aren't very bright but they are very cute. The only sheep I ever see are at the zoo.

OOOHHH!

They all have hoof rot :( we didn't want the babies feet getting hurt.

CG, i guess we just have bad luck with that. any baby we take off mama after 3 hours would never take a bottle..... :(

Julie, yep, its hoof rot. our sheep have it bad! we had to have a vet come out today to treat (spelled that wrong i think) our goat. she now has these cool little camo shoes on. lol.

Sheep are stupid, but OH man! are they CUTE!
