Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I realize that, and that he is trying to help. But they are DG's mom's sheep and all we can do is nicely tell her what she could suggest to her mom to help. DG said they had a vet come out to treat their hooves, I'm sure the vet talked with her mom about the conditions they need to be able to heal and all that.

You're right, You're right, You're right.

Taking a chill pill now.

Me too. I was just thinking if I tried to tell my mom how to take care of her animals at 13 (no matter where I got the info) I probably would have been grounded for being a smart a**, lol. And it's easy to forget there's a lot of minors on here.

What does everyone on here use for pools for their ducks? Mine have a little kiddie pool, and a big one. I want to get one of those big livestock tanks for them, but I'm wondering how hard that would be to clean. The big kiddie pool is already a pain to empty, but it stays cleaner longer so I don't have to as much. I want something deep enough they can actually dive under though.

Very true. I'm getting all Riled up. DG has that affect on me.

I do a medium kiddie pool. I'd love to do a real in ground pond in the yard.. but I don't know how long we'll be living here, and I don't want to invest that and then leave.

Although I bet it would increase the value slightly. No actually, I bet it wouldn't.

I'll stick with the kiddie for now.

It hasn't been cold enough to really freeze the pool solid here. I've been breaking the ice every day, and emptying and refilling on the nice days. If I got a livestock tank though I could put in a livestock heater maybe though. I'm kind of scared to have electricity around the ducks though.

Like i said guys. THIS WAS MY MOM IDEA! not mine... so because my mom took the babies away, i can't enjoy them? Yes, im sad they were taken away. i cried. i didn't want mama to be sad. but the only dry place we have is where our milk goats are. We are trying so hard to keep the rot away from the goats. since that is where our milk comes from.....

The only reason we HAVE sheep is because my dad likes to jump into things all at once and doesn't think. He never even thought that our land was to wet to have sheep on it. He just jumped into it as he does with everything else! (thats why my parents are divorced!)

lets just say that my girls ice skate on top of the pool that we didnt put up this winter..
we have about 2 feet of snow outside RIGHT NOW!!! and it hasnt been very snowy this winter.
