Yes, we have lots of eastern greys around here. You do sometimes see them in the suburbs here in Canberra because there's a lot of patches of bush that have been retained. They come in at night to eat people's lawns. Conditions are better around here at the moment as we had a lot of rain last year - that means the kangaroos have bred a lot. Kangaroos are pretty amazing animals. I see them often (you don't have to drive far here to find them, plus they hang out in my friend's horse paddock and I go out there regularly) but it's still always impressive to see them jumping along. They are very pretty animals. The males can be quite big though (easily as tall as a person) and you wouldn't want to get too close to them. You have to be careful walking a dog off-lead where there are roos. Most dogs couldn't go fast enough to catch a roo but if the roo was cornered the dog would come off second best (they stand on their tail and kick the dog in the stomach with their hind legs). They even lure dogs into dams then drown them (that happened to a dog belonging to an old neighbour of mine).
