CG & QJ, hope your babies all hatch!!
Hm... speaking of hatching, I wonder how Chicken's hatching is going.
I know I can't wait for my next lockdown... 2 weeks from tomorrow. Then I'm all done with hatching. SIGH.
I'm just getting discouraged with the shipped egg situation. It's like I have to buy a dozen to get 4 to hatch! But I can't get the breeds I want unless I buy the eggs. Ugh!
First you get them to hatch.. THEN you root for the girls. LOL. Although I think I might have gotten lucky with the light sussex. I'm pretty sure I have a pair.

I am kind of debating on getting one more set of cayuga eggs so we could possibly have a breeding pair from different stock.![]()

that sucks.
maybe its this weather?
im sure things will be better when spring hits.
well then see !You know what, you're probably right. The first 2 batches of shipped eggs I got were awesome hatch rates. One was 100% . And it was in the 80's.
So we'll go with that.![]()
QJ, I think it is just luck of the draw with shipped eggs, but back to the byc vs. ebay eggs: So far, I hatched 8 of 12 with cayugas (66%) and have developing 100% ancona and 80% celtic's goose eggs.
Hm...
