Oh I don't remember who posted about it, but geese will NOT protect a flock of anything from any predator, dog, hawk ect. They are great alarm systems, but won't stand up to a threat. Now a momma goose sitting a nest can be a force, but when push comes to shove a predator can kill a goose as easily as a duck.
I think our first Sebbie passed away, will be checking on him shortly, he was starting to kick a lot, so I changed the position to keep him in place as the yolk wasn't absorbed yet. Last I looked though he had kicked through a vein and I had to hold pressure to stop the bleeding. So we are hoping he will make it, but holding our breath. We do have 8 eggs set though in groups of 4, so goslings aren't too far off in the future.
