QJ-

Yes, defiinately, I have 12 B/B/S preordered. I was also planning to do ducks and quail (which buys my new eggs an extra week to get to lockdown and make room)

However, who knows what all I'll end up with. I guess I'd better go count up my space, and start subtracting so I don't end up with too many eggs! With the two new egg purchases, I've just lost 3 rows of turners.

Why do we do this to ourseves? Oh yes, baby ducks are so CUTE!

Ok let's answer these questions, hope I remember them all.

SA ducklings, yes they can hatch very dark. We had one hatch super dark and it ended up a drake and is still darker than the rest now, but not as dark as a Rouen now.

Never touch working parts in a bator wih water or chemicals. I use a small tipped paint brush to brush off the fans as needed.

We sell all types of hatching eggs:

Chicken
goose
duck

I own the Ameracuana in Lavender and Black
hubby owns the Easter Eggers and our eatting egg flock
our son owns the Black Copper Marans. They are a project flock of his for egg shell color and improving comb condition.

Warning on the A,eracuana and BCM, they are slooooow to mature and start laying. For selling eatting eggs EE's OE's BLRW and Brahma are working much better for us. I do have 1 blue copper marans in the eatting egg flock, but she just recently started laying after hatching last year.

Marans are a very hardy bird and I know someone in upper Maine who gets all winter from her BCM's.

We will never be without EE's though they are great layers and the colors of the shells are wonderful. We have three EE roosters. A silver ducking type, a blue copper with lacing and a black with deep orange hackles and saddles. The hens are blue, blue/silver, cream, orange and what I call wild game bird ( the typical brown with black spekaling)

your black and white ducks. Please tell me what they are? I have several ducks, but only a few varieties. I mostly am a duck egg person, so I havn't tried many of the multi purpose ducks. Yours with their dapper black and white feathers are so pretty.

I'm seriously thinking about learning about them. I'd love to start a duck breed with the beauty of the many heritage ducks, but some of the peking traits (large white eggs) so I could have something else to look at. All my ducks are brown or white! LOL. I used to have Cayugas, but not anymore. A neighbor dog relieved me of them several years ago. The owner purchased my starter Khakis for me. (huge sigh)
