does anyone know a good place to get pekin eggs? i have 2 males that seem to be bonded to each other, but they are my favorite so far and would love to add a couple females to the mix and see if i can gain their interest

Well, if you can wait until April, I can help you. What of my eggs don't go to the oriental food store, and his incubator (not to hatch though) I've promised to my kids school, for each class to hatch eggs. Heck, in about 5 weeks I'm gonna be up to my eyeballs in little yellow ducklings! Seriously, how many do you wnat? LOL

I'll give you eggs for shippng, if your only wanting a half dozen or so. Mine are breed, and new ducks are selected, for egg production. Mine are laying machines!

I'd offer you some eggs for shipping, but I don't have a pekin drake.

i am kinda lazy that way, i did all the details with the writing tip, a small frosting spat, and a pairing knife

i would love to hatch out a few, but i wouldn't say no to already hatched fuzz balls

Just here to give an update and then heading to bed...

I have one little duckie holding on for dear life. I have her in a little tupperwear container with a wet papertowel under her and then another wet papertowel laid over the yolk sac. the yolk sac is getting smaller and smaller. and she is peeping alot. my cat Leo has been laying on the bed right beside the incubator and he looks in on her when she peeps. I have also set mre eggs in the incubator with her. there are 22 pekin eggs and 8 chocolate runners that a friend gave me today. the incubator in the bathroom is stll taking careof the eggs in it. The Silkies are due on the 23rd and the Cayuga and SA are due March 1. If they make it they make it. If not I will get some babes from my friend and take care of them.

I don't know if my sinus infection is getting worse or better. I am on medicine for it. The part that sucks the most is my right eye. It is swollen almost stut. And it itches so bad.

Well thats enough for now. I am off to bed. Good night all

It sure is a pretty duck though.

He looks swede x pekin to me, but who knows? His name is B.D., short for Big Duck. I thought he was going to get bigger than my pekins for a while. He's bonded with Tiny Pekin, who is my best "nurse duck." When Tiny was a juvenile, she took to looking after any sickly or injured duckling I had. She looked after my pekin who had no control of her lower legs until the poor girl finally passed. That duck had such a will to live, but she never grew. I just made sure she had a happy three weeks or so with me until her time came.
