Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Julie there's an egg in the duckloo. LOL. I should have waited before asking you that. That's good because it means she's getting in there. Which means my adult female is letting her in there. (She's weird about the duckloo. That's her space.)

Now don't ask me how I'm going to get in there, because it's a muddy mess with the rain last night. (eye roll)

Lol. She moved her laying spot a few days before she left because my teeny 1 lb silkie mix went broody and took it over. It took me a few days to find her new spot, and I only did because the broodies found it and were trying to move the eggs to their nest in the coop.

boy when a broody wants to sit she is serious about it .

Really gross TRUE story - - I had pheasant eggs in bator. They are too dark to candle, so I brought the ones that didn't hatch after like 23 days up to the house in bucket to dispose of. Left bucket on sidewalk while I went to get garbage bag to put them in and got distracted on something else for a short time. When I came back a little later, all the eggs were gone.

I looked around, and there's my dog looking rather sheepish. Needless to say, I left her outside for quite awhile and kept a close watch on her, but as far as I could tell, she was fine.

Lol, yep. I found a trail of eggs from her nest in the run leading towards the silkie's nestbox inside. Which is about a foot and a half off the ground, I'm not sure how she thought she was going to get them up there. At least I can collect the eggs from her, the silkie x scares me. She means business.

oh girl. Don't talk to me about laundry. I don't want a reminder. UGH!!

Ya know, it's not so much doing it and folding it... it's that I have no where to PUT it!! All the drawers are full as of last night. I need another dresser or two.

Same problem here. That, and trying to fold it and put it away without "help" from my kids.

maybe she just planned to pile them up infront of the nestbox
and either switch back and forth
or convince one of her girlfriends to sit on the eggs .

or she just knew u needed help finding them,. and thought hey if i put these over here where mommy can find them maybe i can have them .

Love the "help" I get from my 1 and 3 yr olds. I fold, the 1 yr old pulls the piles down and throws clothes everywhere. The 3 yr old puts things in wrong drawers....

But the 8 yr old is amazing at helping me. We call it "tag team laundry". If I put a cool name to something she is more eager to help. So we make it a game.
