Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Speaking of cayugas, my favorite duckling from the last hatch is a cayuga.

AND.... I just got an email saying my cayuga eggs from Pidgey are on their way!

I use it and keep their water at the other end of the brooder. Don't give them a big enough dish to swim in. I put in a bigger bowl for them to swim in once a day or so, and shut the light off for 20 minutes or so and let them splash around. Inside I use a regular bulb or blacklight, but outside I use the 250 watt red bulbs. I didn't like the ceramic ones when I had them for my snakes and lizards because I wouldn't notice right away when they went out.

I have used the ceramic ones alot when I had my plethora of about 20 snakes, & they are okay imo ~ I ended up going back to the red heat lamp. White during the day & red at night. I now only use the red bulb, I started out with the 250 watt red one.... But I switched to the Philips 100w Colortone Outdoor floodlight... Because it can handle weather & are more durable. My 2 cents

Jaz, you will MELT when you see what you hatch from aurora springs' eggs!! The next blue egg is 1/2 way zipped. I'm a touch nervous about one of the white eggs. There is no obvious pip and it is getting a yellow tint to the shell? After this ducky hatches, and the humidity spikes again, I want to give it a quick candle.
