I use it and keep their water at the other end of the brooder. Don't give them a big enough dish to swim in. I put in a bigger bowl for them to swim in once a day or so, and shut the light off for 20 minutes or so and let them splash around. Inside I use a regular bulb or blacklight, but outside I use the 250 watt red bulbs. I didn't like the ceramic ones when I had them for my snakes and lizards because I wouldn't notice right away when they went out.
Oh and Utah... I might have chuckled at the ducky toys you have in your tank. I did. I chuckled. Laughed really. It was more of a laugh. Kind of a chuckle laugh combination. It was a Luckle.
That's cute.
That Ancona is a cutie but those Cayugas.....!! They look like velvet.
Actually they reminded me of novelty fluffy duck slippers. Don't know why.
I have used the ceramic ones alot when I had my plethora of about 20 snakes, & they are okay imo ~ I ended up going back to the red heat lamp. White during the day & red at night. I now only use the red bulb, I started out with the 250 watt red one.... But I switched to the Philips 100w Colortone Outdoor floodlight... Because it can handle weather & are more durable. My 2 cents
