boy oh boy i am getting so excited.
that means im going to have issues sleeping wednesday .
what were the emails tuesday night??
how far in advance did you order yours?
did they take foreverto take the money out of your account?
i ordered mine like the 4th, and they just now took the money out on like thursday or friday . (23/24)



and thats really interesting about the refrigerator (i hate that word for some reason, its not fun to spell) eggs.
i can't beleive they are developing.
which means everyone all these years have been wrong wrong wrong about it.

I only ordered them a little over a week before they shipped, but it said on their website they take the money out the week of hatching or something like that. All the emails said the same thing, just confirmation that my order had been shipped and to expect a phone call from the post office within 72 hours.
The eggs seemed like they took an extra day or so to vein up, I couldn't see veins in one of them until last night and usually can by around 3 days. Now I can't tell any difference in the 4 and they are growing quick. I set them wednesday I think, so they are on day 5 now.

grandma finally told grandpa yesterday about us getting geese.
he was much less mad than expected.
and i only got a small lecture. and he just walked away shaking his head because i had an answer for everything.

first question- what are you going to do with them? "me" - put them on the porch.
"grandpa"- no i mean when they get big.
"me"- oh that, well i figured id just put them in the yard, and they can go where they want, and atnight sleep with the ducks.

and then he was happy about the packing peanuts. little does he know we ARE NOT keeping them

I candled everyone last night, and 14 of 14 are developing beautifully! Guess 2 weeks of refrigeration just slows them down a little bit, but they still develop great. All 14 eggs are from the same duck, so I know for sure the older eggs were at least 2 weeks + old since she had already been at QJ's a few days when I set the last 4.

im so happy cant wait to get them home!!! i wish i could down load pictures from my phone on to the thread. but it wont let me unless i have the code for the picture anyone know how i could find that out??? and cant wait to see what kind of temprament they have

Ok so here is the convo with my dad yesterday as we were clearing out brush in the chicken area...

Me: "Let me explain what I want to do.. the breeding pens will be here.. and the grow out pen will be here.."
Dad: "What's a grow out pen?"
Me: "Where I'll put the babies that will be.. ya know.. growing out."
Dad: "Ok, Listen.. chickens aren't that complicated. You put them in a pen, you feed them, they lay an egg and you eat it."
Me: "No dad. These are city chickens."
Dad: (sigh... eye roll)
