Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

You were weeding today in the rain/snow/hail? Yuck--you definitely must need a long, hot soak!

Looks like an hour and 20 minutes + or - tonight. Not bad. Got time to fetch dessert before checking the eggies one last time, bringing the dog in and getting a nice, hot bath. Lavender candles, privacy and steam. Ahhh.

I spent my day kneeling in icky slimy mud, weeding. Love my job, but I've got weeding burnout.

Hey Christine! Glad some are developing for you! I have 11 developing with 2 more possibles! I did, however, discover another broken egg, but it is developing!

QJ, looking good! Probably will be a long night Friday for ya!

I agree about Celtic's eggs I'm SO bummed that the post office may have lost her eggs. She sent me 6 silver appleyards as a surprise too!! :(

That doesn't take long! At home, I'm a cake lady, organic market gardener, and egg lady. At work I'm food service manager, and our school has a hoop house that I seem to spend a lot of my spare time in weeding and watching over. (Although our kids at school are awesome little weekers, planters, waterers, composters, and veggie puller/pickers) It take a long bath to get the mud out from under your nails!

we have an old pedistal tub, and man its perfect for a nice deep soak. Its mama sized..... Enjoy the bubbles. I'm about to write down what page we are on, and hit the hay.

Another "Jill" of all trades! Your many obsessions sound wonderful!

I am farmhand, photographer, poetry editor and farmhand. Have to say farmhand twice just because. I'm debating on whether to do our farmer's market this year. It's a different one than the farm does, so I wouldn't be stepping on toes.

Wish we had a decent tub. Ours is about half the size I'd really be happy with. I think the ducklings' bathtub brooder in my loft is bigger, but the spot for the tub in our house won't accomidate a much larger one.

I saw one tonight with a crack that I didn't notice before. You can't really see it under normal light. I'm going to look to see if I have a scentless candle to seal it with wax because it was one of the eggs that I was sure was developing.

I love Pekins! My favorites among all the ducks I've had since I was a kid (Pekin, Blue and Black Swedish, Welsh Harlequin) have been Pekins. I like them all, but the Pekins just seem to have more personality than the others. My last Pekin figured out that our Golden Retriever was scared of him. The dog would lay down when she saw him coming and look at me like she was saying "help!" while the duck climbed on top of her and grabbed her fur. Golden Retrievers are very sweet, but are NOT the smartest of dog breeds.

Tell me you got a photo of that!

Utah: yes.. Friday will be a LOOOnnnng night. But thankfully, it's Friday. AND my hubby is in the bestest mood on Friday. Which will be good. LOL.

I hope you get your eggs tmw!! Fingers crossed. Silver Appleyards! They are soooo cute.

Too bad. It is fun to listen to them establish breathing and it helps to hear progress when you cannot open you bator again!
