so update: even with a bathroom so full of steam it is dripping down the walls the membranes are like leather,

i had to help a couple others! hopefully my next hatch goes better

the one ? baby was fully developed but dead in shell? could there be any other reasons for leather membranes? i will update in the morning i am so worn out!

No.. I was thinking today I need to buy one. Or find a nurse friend to give me one.


ETA: There are a bunch on Ebay. I'll get one for the next hatch.

Goodwill often has them for $5 or so. I need to go look for one myself!

Does it only work on big eggs? I tried it with mine during the quail UNhatch... Thought maybe they were just too small.

Too bad. It is fun to listen to them establish breathing and it helps to hear progress when you cannot open you bator again!

Here's my last update of the night.

Both Sebbies are pushing on the back of the air cell now. I marked where the air cell dropped to so I can compare in the morning.

They are in the LG at 35% humidity. So we're ready for lift off.

I also have all 5 Swedish Flower hens internally pipping. I'm excited about that. Since I started with 13 eggs AND I picked them up, so they weren't shipped.

So that was a bummer.

Not sure Marty. I have only done it with duck and goose eggs in my LG still air. But it is really clear for them.
