Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

QJ - It s a really nice change from the high plain, but only a 6 hour drive for us. A great vacation, and I love that there was soooo many different types of restaurants and everyting. Strange for me all the winding roads and hills. Where I'm at, there is only trees in town, fencerows, and following water (streams and rivers). Oh, and where a dug out (old old house thing) was, or a foundation from an old place gone back to field lies. I felt a little scared on some of those roads!

Hi everybody. 70 I love that picture!! You need to submit that to the cutest picture on BYC. They are both adorable together. Ok I am going to post a bunch of pictures of my 2 week old silkie chickens. I need to know how to tell the roos from the hens. Here we go, oh I need names for these little sweeties too.

IF i sexed right both ducks are females.
first time sexing so who knows. but i tried and tried and couldnt get to pee pee to pop out (i tried 3 times on each duckling)

abby loved the phone.

qj you will be amazed how fast they grow!.
both girls are already quite a bit bigger!
abby has actually doubled in size
amelia was really hard to hold still .
she just wanted to run around and explore!
abby was content to sit and be rubbed

And a couple more because they are just so darn cute

At night I put them under their blankey and shut off the heat lamp. They stay until that blanket until I get up and turn the light back on and uncover them. Hubby will get up at 4:30 to get ready for work and they will not come out from under that blankey. This morning though, I slept late and when I went in to wake them up, this little one was peaking out:

Time for my morning candling update:
My new ancona eggs, on day 4, have 12 pretty spiders, 2 looking to develop spiders today, and 2 that are unsure.
All 9 ancona eggs on day 9 look good.
Then there are my cayuga eggs on day 9. While I have 4 eggs going strong, I tossed 2 more with blood rings... which leaves 3 last eggs to hold out hope for.
It's too soon to candle my goosies yet, but I have a great feeling about them!

I told hubby I would buy him more cayuga eggs since we are having rotten luck with pidgey's eggs in the bator. He said don't buy any more duck eggs. But then he cast a glance over at our goslings.... and gave me a look. I asked.... are you trying to say you want more goose eggs instead?? He breaks out into an evil grin. I replied... let's see how many eggs develop in the bator before we get more goose eggs.... then he says.... but we don't have any dewlap toulouse eggs and I want a goose like the one in Pete's picture.

I think the bottom pics "do" reminds me of Mr. T. How about Mohawk, Smoky, and Midnight? The smoky blue/gray one is so beautiful! I hope my silky eggies give me so super pretty silky babies....
