I have seen that before. It is like they do their first pip before they have gone all the way up into aircell. But it looks like your egg is starting to zip in that pic! I bet it will zip just fine.

We had two set for this hatch, one died around day 15. This one was 2 days early! Lockdown was yesterday. So we hit lockdown again Thursday and Friday, not long to wait before the others are out. This one will sleep in our bedroom until the others are hatched.

I never brood in the house ever, but unless he gets his legs under him to be with the ducklings then it's inside until the others hatch. We are just lucky to not need to keep them in here and that we have a seperate building we can use.

Yay! I candled the eggs I have at home last night and still have 5 Anconas from AuroraSprings developing. I think I see movement in all of them.

The air cells aren't very symetrical, though. I'm not sure if they are normal or not. What does a detached air cell look like?

I'm also concerned that they've already lost too much water, but I didn't weigh them before I put them in, so how can I tell? The relative humidity just in the air in our house is hovering around 55 - 60, plus I have water in the tray in the incubator, so I don't understand how the humidity could be too low in there. Any ideas or suggestions?
