Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

What!!!???? What do I do? Will it be obvious if they've internally pipped?

Last night all 4 of my eggs started wiggling around when they heard my voice.

Guess what?? I went to turn my eggs that are in with my day 24 eggs, and I heard one peep! I quickly candled and saw that 4 are either already internally pipped or about to pip! So I quickly moved the last of my day 20 eggs into goose bator (and my 2 pidgey eggs propped upright) and am now starting to slowly boost humidity. That little egg peeped loudly at me the whole time I was rearranging everyone for hatching.... and it's BLUE!

What do you mean by fluid? In the air cell or below it? I can see fluid, but I think it's below the air cell. A couple of mine look pretty funky, too.

They still have fluid. I can't believe they are still alive... given how funky they look.

The Anconas might internally pip today?!? I was thinking I had until Thursday. No? Don't you keep turning until day 26?

Almost half of my 8 ancona eggs have internally pipped in the last couple of hours. I expect the other four to pip by the morning at the latest. In my experience (with my bator in my conditions) my ducks internally pip on day 24-25, externally pip on day 25-26, then hatch on day 27 into morning of day 28. I stop turning my eggs when air cell makes dramatic dip, which is usually by day 23. Hatching is a 72 hour process.

Christine.... first things first... relax and take a deep breath. We can do this together. All is well. If you saw all 4 eggs moving last night and responding to stimulation, then you are in great shape!

Candle your eggs to see where dip is and lay the dip side on top. If you see shadows moving inside air cell, they are internally pipping. I like to use my steth to listen for clicking sounds of beginning breathing. Some people hold fat end of egg next to ear to listen for the clicking sound too. However, to my surprise, my 1st blue egg was peeping so loud, I could hear it without steth. I am now slowly raising my humidity (over a 12-24 hour period) to 73%. It is currently at 56% and climbing.

Not sure about the fluid problem with my cayuga eggs. I have had minor fluid before, but it has always resolved itself by day 21 when the embryo has fully grown and the membrane is expanded to create a solid air cell.

one membrane dried out.... so i nicked it to be sure air could get in.... wet it down with a q-tip and room temp water... there was some blood so I put a damp paper towel over and put it back.......

Same here. But in my experience ducklings don't hatch well at all unless on their sides. FYI.
