Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Ok, Updates for me.

I have put the "babies" in with the teenagers. So everybody is outside with the exception of Fiona and her friends. I bring her in at night.

I got 2 duck eggs this morning so Mallard is for sure laying. (She had stopped for a week or so.) BUT the weird thing is, I can't tell their eggs apart anymore. Rosalee's eggs are getting bigger and less blue. So that kinda sucks.

Also.. I went out this morning to 4 HUGE hawks circling my yard. None of them landed.. but they were so big. So big. They are eyeing Fiona. I just know it.

I think that's it. It's gorgeous outside here!!!!

Oh and congrats on the new hatches/almost hatches. I look at everybody's pics, but I usually don't respond to the pics because my computer is SO slow that it takes a really long time.

So I'm not being anti-social.

QJ, love your posts! You one funny lady! I'll be sure to put a note on my paypal payment about your recommendation to get eggs from him.

It's official.... the goslings are not returning to indoor pen. It is crazy the way they are going at each other, which I assume is for dominance (like horses). They need the extra space and outside stimulation. Plus, I'm tired of hearing them scream. Since there is a quick moving snow storm coming in late tonight/early tomorrow, I told hubby we can either canvas tarp the pen and leave in front yard or move pen into garage... but they are not coming back into the house! The geese are in love. They can have them!

Well, Happy to report that Lucky is walking around well, eating mush, and drinking water. He's in the brooder now with a baby chick from the other group.
Heres the newest pics....

Here is lucky trying to catch me as I try to snap a pic, he's bonding to me great.

Lucky snacking on mush

Its so nice that he's going to make it. He is doing just great. Totally healthy now, like the last day and a half never happened. He's certianly
caused me more trouble that other duck hatches, but I guess we'll just have to spoil him/her.

Oh good! I told him I had recommended him to a few peeps. So that makes me look good. LMBO!!

That's weird about the geese. Is that normal? I only have one right now.. so I won't probably have weirdness. But I can say that the big ducks aren't sure what to make of her. They leave her alone and walk around her like they know one day she will be bigger than them. It's funny.

OMG, QJ... you have NO idea! One gosling will walk up behind another and bite its wing, which causes the bitten gosling to clamp down on 1st gosling's neck. The one getting bit will scream nonstop while trying to run away, but the other gosling stays clamped down like a pit bull and runs right along continuing to hold down the neck.

No wonder you kicked them out. How old are they now?
