Well, only for a little bit! Just finished giving eggs to the school, but I've got new ones every day. I'm about to commence the personal duck hatch projects, which is putting in about 20 eggs every other week for 3 monthes. Your gonna get sick of little dark Khaki babies, and fluffy yellow pekings before its all over, trust me.

I'm making my son a pineapple upside-down cake for his birthday tomorrow!

Meet speed racer... my early internal pipper... and early hatcher.

In other news, I busted open the other 2 remaining eggs... both shrinkwrapped. One had head facing in towards yolk sac, so I hatched the entire top half, leaving yolk in shell... it is resting now. The other shrinkwrapped kid had internally pipped, but on the flat side of egg (was a droopy air cell). I had to half-hatch to free his head. He seems to be doing well. I got pretzel's head a little more freed from shell, and repositioned it. It seems comfortable now. My bator is looking like a hospital ward! But, I haven't lost one .... yet (although I have my doubts about a few making it).

Beautiful little baby!

I know I'm just talking to myself at this point, but even my husband has fallen asleep. Baby #3 finished hatching out on its own at 3:45am. 1st baby is really getting his legs under him and stresses me out to see him knock around the other half-hatched eggs.

My last hatch was all crazy like that. Had one hatch on its own and then it all went downhill. Hubby and I collectively helped hatch 7 ducklings over 24 hours. I finally fell asleep on the couch and hubby took over and helped a few while I slept and then when I woke up at 4am, I hatched the last two.

Babies 4, 5, & 6 all popped out within 20 minutes of each other. Only one external pip baby to go. My 3 internal pip babies and the SA, who is a day behind, are all resting comfortably now.

Good deal. You're doing so well!

What a long night for you, Utah.....but you are doing an awesome job!!! Maybe your nickname needs to be "midwife"

Exactly!

Updates from my end of the world - We are starting to see some movement in our hatching incubator! We have true Ameraucanas in their (this will be our first set of eggs from our pullet) along with some Olive Eggers and just a few splash cochins. I was hesitant to set the cochins because i have so many chicks in the grow out pen right now from the splash flock. The Olive Eggers will all probably be for sale after hatch though because I have plenty of those too.

Friday will be a few runner ducks hatching out which will be the first of the season.

Whoooooo!
