Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

That's amazing about your goslings. Mine are only a week younger, but are much smaller and still babyish.

It's official, I'm in LOVE with my silver apple.

I swapped out the paper towels with a dish towel, set some mash/water in it, and the sweet thing insisted on crawling into my hand to take a nap. I think I may have to raise these two separately in a special brooder in my office.

Chicken & QJ: Did you guys ever get your ancona orders resolved with that one hatchery? Just curious....

Negative. So Po'd. Waiting...... if I'd known this would be such a long wait.. I wouldn't have gotten them. By the time I get them and then wait 28 days... It will be next spring before I can do anything with them! UGH!

They told me that ducks don't start laying untill the end of March!

Yeah and pigs can fly too right....... I guess they don't realize that I'm pretty big into the Anconas and um sorry but these guys can outlay any chicken anyday.

I don't want to pee them off, but it's about time they start getting a projected ship date for me.

That's a bunch of crap. Julie Ancona lays better than my RIR's. Go pick up 6 eggs and freakin' mail them to me. Really?

Cuties! (I cut an old towel & put over the wire of my hatcher. It works fantabuloso)

Shelf Liner! The squishy kind.

Yep, 6 weeks old. They have some fuzz on their necks and back, but are most the way feathered.

Love!

soo cute

Actually, if I'd known this about PR.. I could have scrapped them and gotten some of ChickenCrazy's penciled runners.

But now I have to leave room for the non-existent ducks that aren't even here yet or hatched yet. Poo on that whole situation.

2 sebbies going strong

My others all look goood too, but are a couple days behind my sebbies

Here is a pic of my youngsters. 1 of these is 3 months old and the others are all 2 months. I'm really happy with the way the markings are coming along on these guys. My breeding goals are more to the lighter marked ducks with lots and lots of spots vs the heavy marked ducks with large patches of color. I still have some little things to correct with this generation, but I'm getting closer to my breeding goals.
