Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

I actually am getting over hatching and want to enjoy the babies I have hatched. But, if the 2nd set of buff dewlaps become available, how can I say no to one more round in the bator? ;)

ypu've done alot this year...and saying no is the hard part

Thanks Dutch! How's your horse today??

He hurts bad. He'll be up for an hour or two, then lays down for an hour or so, then he gets back up....all day long. I was outside all day working on breeding pens, and he grazed and napped and hung out with me all day. I was running the circular saw and he was standing behind me resting his chin on my shoulder, lol. The bleeding finally stopped during the night...it seeped through the bandages all day yesterday and was still going when I went to bed around 2am. I was very relieved to see it had stopped when I got up. I'm not re-wrapping it till Sunday...don't want to get it pouring blood again. There was a small severed vessel that kept spurting while the vet cleaned it. He's got a long road to recovery in front of him.

I'm going to keep hatching until I actually get to keep some of the babies I've hatched. The runners are pre-selling like mad for me right now!

If I don't get to keep a couple blacks and a couple silvers and a couple penciled, I'm going to be super-sad.

For you and your horse. They're such gentle creatures.

I need to get my hubby in some kind of rehab for duck hatcher enablers. He's looking for a third incubator.

Do ya'll know what I would do with a THIRD incubator! Hello, hatcher. Hello mad staggered hatches! Hello, overrun by ducks!

Dutch, a www.... Hope he feels better soon. I know how hard horse injuries can be!

Quackers, pick your favorites and hide them! That is what we did when we sold off our extra cayugas. Not sure I will be able to list any that just hatched. I love them all too much to pick.

I presold all the runners in the next hatch. Hubby keeps thinking someone will back out. I'm hoping so. I really want to keep some. But I don't have enough places to hide ducklings.

"Why is your jacket peeping?"

"Oh, how did THOSE ducklings get in there?"
