This is celtic's theory. I have my goose and duck eggs in one bator and raised duck eggs to goose level. But goose eggs are more porous and heat is getting through duck eggs more easily. So i lowered duck eggs to floor a few days ago.
And yes, assuming I hatch my cayugas in a few days, I am done buying eggs. Time for the next stage... Growing out all my many babies!

I can't believe it. They're all due Monday.

Mine just pipped today. They're due saturday. Maybe they wanted to share birthdays.

My 4 babies look good so far. Sitting in there absorbing, seem happy little bit of peeping, and not drying out.

That's great news!!!! Take it slow from here on out. But you've done chickens so you'll be alright. It's just much slower than them.

OH.. just opened an Ancona egg and it was NOT fertile.


And not to be weird.. but I was watching drakey boy do his "thing" and well... how do I say this... He's not hitting the mark .. so to speak. He's just like... missing the target.

A guy down there is bringing cream legbar eggs. And I'm hoping to find a lav orp roo to go with my hen.. AND whatever else I find. Except for I don't have much room.. and my farm coop isn't done! AHHH. I must control myself tmw.

I run it the same as Chickens and Ducks 60 to 76 depending on by bator but if I go over 80 they do not do so well
