Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Well, I mean unsupervised. I only have 1 day time pen right now... And its the ducklings. Wouldn't fit 4 baby geese, and 10 ducklings. I will be letting them graze 6 or 7 times a day till then.... for about 20 minutes each time, and I also have grass and veggies offered 24/7.... even for the ducklings. They seem happier when I do that for them

Celtic is sending a care sheet with them, so I should be OK

lol. im not giving my girl more eggs.
i want to let one of the other hens have a chance
im really hoping i get some black magpie this hatch
i wanna keep a hen
These girls will only be sitting on them for 4 or 5 more days....then they get no more eggs. They have done a fabulous job, and I have no more Call eggs being laid...the blue fawns are setting about 14 eggs, and the other girls have stopped laying. Molting has started, too. I couldn't tell for sure that those 2 eggs were still viable due to it being daylight.

My broody girls probably would have kept laying a bit longer, but after only having one baby hatch in my bator, I was tired of losing eggs so I let them do it. Glad I did, or I might not have any now.

is it just me or are Quail horrid about piling on each other and smooshing everyone?
Yes they do but I haven't found it any different than a duck pile. Is your heat up?
Ok...so I caved and checked the 3 eggs under the broody...all 3 have internally pipped and are all over in the eggs and chirping. We are very dry outside, extremely low humidity right now, so I brought them in. Made tiny holes in the tops of the eggs, and monitoring them now. 3 more Call babies coming!! Woohoo!
