So, I come on here after about a month's absence and the first thing I see is a chicken in a soda bottle. Only to be expected I guess.

Rachel, glad to hear he is doing well. Waterfowl take forever to hatch. If he still had veins in the membrane a few hours ago, it may even be tomorrow before he's ready to come out. I would bet your thermometer is off and you are on the cool side, which will make it take longer.

Thank you Iain for all of your help. I can't tell if there are veins are not (too humid! lol), but I'm just going to stay on the safe side of things. And Waterfowl are so much harder than chickens. I've never worried this much over a chicken hatch. lol. Thank you again! And thank you Miss Lydia! You guys are amazing!!

No, Wulf, just horribly busy at work....it's settled down a bit now. I usually am on BYC in work time since that's when you guys are all awake but when I am really busy at work I don't get the chance.... And on weekends I just like to stay away from the computer

Cocoa, I'm good thanks. Loving the better weather we are starting to have here. Have most of my birds outside now and I'm enjoying watching them grow up. In major birds news, I have a trio of buff dewlap toulouse babies in USPS hands right this moment, my favorite african is in a medical pen recovering nicely from a dog bite wound, and I am constantly worrying about my crippled grey dewlap girl, even though she is full of gumption and insists she is a tough girl.

That's very exciting about your new goslings arriving. Hope USPS produces them soon. Good that your african is recovering well....poor goosey. Glad that your grey girl is in good spirits

OKAY its official in my book THE USPS SUCKS EGGS !!!! LITERALLY

Talked to the PO today about the guinea eggs..... I got " We don't gaurantee 2-3 day shipping" HUH HUH ??? Then why say 2-3 day priority mail ??? OH & they had NO CLUE about where the eggs were.
Showed they were shipped on MAY 11th.
SEATTLE recieved them on MAY 24th
&
I recieved them on MAY 26th.

They said we don't know where or what happened. & Oh you are **** out of luck..... REALLY !!! This is what they do for a business. You pay for 2-3 day shipping & you get your PERISHABLE FRAGILE PACKAGE 15 days later !!! That is slower than the longest GROUND shipping !!!
