Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Bakin, as far as temperament goes, I do not see a difference between my toulouse and my grey dewlaps. My buff dewlaps, on the other hand, are extremely mild mannered.

Hopefully these are in your price range? I hatched 3 of 5 eggs from this seller and they are very nice birds.

Production or utility Toulouse can be found anywhere including hatcheries. True quality Dewlap Toulouse come from breeders, and are very hard to come by as far as quality stock from a knowledgeable breeder. There are less than favorable breeders of the dewlaps out there unfortunately, and the quality of the goslings shows it.

thank you so much for the info!

So the second mini silver appleyard hatched today and is still very wobbly. The rest of the eggs are muscovy and look like a couple have piped. My muscovy hen seems to have jumped nests to the other muscovy's nest or at least is trying to so I brought the 2nd msa in and put it into the incubator. How long do I need to keep the day old and the wobbly newborn apart? Or is it ok to put them together in the brooder I made? Duck mommy has done all the work before.

I usually wait until the younger one can get around a little bit before introducing it to bigger babies. I've got a batch right now that has an age difference of ten days from oldest to youngest. No carnage, just waited until the new babies could stand and move around okay.
