Hey guys! I actually took a couple pics of my Anconas today. Down to 4. 2 blues, 1 lavender, and 1 black. My blue male has a rusted chest which looks pretty cool. All blue on top but rusty boobies. I think he looks pretty neat. My daughter and I played around with the chalk today. My fence looks so cute now.

Oh, you know, up until a few moments ago, I thought Anconas only came in black and white. I've been puzzling over one ancona I have out of 8 that has pale gray and white (lilac probobly), and I've been wondering what on earth it could be.

Apparently its just another color of Ancona.

. Were you liking the size of Shamos? Because the Ko Shamo is much less gamey. The rest are gorgeous though!
I like the looks, and the friendly towards people factor. I think i'm leaning towards the cubalayas. I think they are beautiful, and seem to be a very well rounded bird. Friendly, pretty, forage well, lay and brood well, etc. It's just the containment factor that has me worried. If I have to build 6 foot fences I'll just get emu's.

And I could make a tractor, but my main purpose for my birds are the pretty lawn ornament factor and I want something I can let roam around the yard. With the other birds and my kids and not cause trouble.

I'm going to take my time and not worry about it until at least fall. I might just fall in love with my EE's by then and decide to keep them despite all the drama they seem to bring, lol. Although I am ready for a real breed, and if I rehome my extra ducks and sizzles I have room to add a pair/trio of bantam cubalayas.

DD will be 8 and able to join 4h in January, and I'm thinking they would be a good choice for her to show.

Lol. You don't happen to need a khaki drake do you?
wink.png
Cute little boy, still a baby and hasn't got his adult feathers. Rescued him all by his lonesome from a park with only geese for company. I don't know if he was an excess drake and got dropped off alone, or if he was dropped off with friends who didn't make it. I couldn't leave him there though, but I have way too many boys.

Hiya Julie! How are you? Always nice when you drop in. I don't actually need any, but if you want a small troup of females, I have 3 youngsters ready to go. LOL

Ah yes the Cubalayas are gorgeous and would make a great show bird! I rarely see them down here anymore.

That is pretty funny, Marty. Yup, they come in chocolate, blue, lavender, silver and tricolor. I too kept a lavender drake and a blue and b/w girl.

I miss my khaki girl and would love another one, but now that hubby's seen the runner I have to find more of them, lol. Although if I don't find him a home soon maybe I'll come buy your girls so I can sell him as a quad. Might be able to find him a home better that way. He's got some time, I don't think any of the ducks I caught are older than 7-8 weeks so they aren't acting like drakes yet and everyone's peaceful so far. In another month I'll be in trouble though. At the moment I have 5 boys and 4 girls.

Should have never went to the park, but I couldn't leave them once I saw them.

Oh, and I'm great other than I keep rescuing park ducks when i am actually trying to downsize my flock a bit. How've you been?

I've never seen one, and don't remember ever seeing any for sale around here. If they are half as impressive as their pics though I think I'll love them.
