Thread formerly known as Hatch day is today

Looks like my Seramas arrived in Seattle, so they should be at my PO in the morning!

One of my little new chicks is a frizzle. So cute, and she has a pretty pale lilac/grayish color coming in. I can't wait until these guys feather in , they are as much fun as easter eggers when it comes to colors/guessing what they'll look like lol.

I haven't hatched any Seramas yet, but I hope to. I picked up my pair from Lulin Seramas yesterday and I'm hoping to get some really nice chicks from them. The eggs from my other Seramas haven't ever hatched; they died part way through incubation and the one time I tried shipped Serama eggs, only one started to develop and then it died. Very frustrating!

I didn't get a chance to take pictures last night - too busy! There is a picture of the hen I bought on Lulin's website: http://www.lulinserama.com/Pages/OurHens.aspx Her name is Lulin Speckles.

She's gorgeous! I got some more eggs in the mail today. Hoping I can get 1-2 more to hatch, then I'll see what I have to work with and what I need more of in spring. Keeping these inside all winter likely, so I don't want too many now, lol, although if I could hatch all 9 eggs I'd be thrilled. But I only have one outside pen I'm comfortable running heat too, and the ducklings are much worse to have inside so they get it.

Thanks! I really like her. I don't know why I can't get Serama eggs to hatch. I have a little Brinsea Mini with auto turner, etc. It worked great for the duck eggs. I'm hoping that I'll have better luck with this pair. I'm wondering if my others were too closely related or something, so I added a couple from someone local, too.

very cool. I dont do silkies, had a trio, sold them very quickly as they were just plumb dumb. lol

12 bunnies growing out right now, 4 mommas bred. 2 goats pregnant and our female pyr is coming into heat (

she doesnt try and kill the male this time)

Geese are starting to breed, we are 2.5 weeks away from breeding pen set up and flock separation.

oh and the aviary seems to be in full swing of bonded pairs, time to put their nest boxes in.

feels like we just finished this madness and yet here we are gearing up and setting up all over again.

DH finally agrees with me that we should get a goat or two. I want dwarf milk goats. I don't need 2-3 qts a day from a single goat per milking, like my sweet saanan Becky used to give. What do you have?

Hows your sons BCMs coming along? I've only got 3 littleones.
