Tick on Black Mother C's eye! Doesn't look good...Have Pics/ Need Suggestions

Hello all and thank you as always for all of the helpful comments that everyone has given me!

I removed a small well fed tick from my favorite chicken's eye and I need some suggestions or thoughts on what y'all would do if you were me...

So the tick was just to the left of her right eye on the corner and her eye was very swollen all around and weeping. Two days later it is not as swollen, but it still looks bad. Should I be worried about infection? My boyfriend suggested flea collars It's "winter" (I do live in the deep south) and I have 10 chickens that eat anything that moves... Is this normal?

I'm not really sure what to think of the swelling. I think if it were me I'd apply plain neosporin to where the tick was attached a coupel times a day and see if it helps. It might be infected? Maybe siome antibiotics in her water? Have you taken her to a vet?

We lived in the old south for about 10 months. One of our big reasons for moving back to the Pacific NW was the ticks...yuck and double yuck.

She's a lovely girl, btw.
