Tis Time for a March 2020 Hatch-a-long!

The membrane is looking very translucent which is a good sign that she's ready. Since the shell is coming off so easily it was probably quite dry during incubation which may be why she's just a little stuck. Since you're able to, I would pick some more shell away by the rump to see if there is any yolk sac and if not I would slowly peel back some of the membrane and allow the chick to push out. If you happen to see blood just apply light pressure with a q-tip or paper towel and continue to wait.

This is for future attempts. Can you post a pic of an attached yolk sac. I looked last night and couldn't find one.

I can't get a good pic of Coco right now, but I wanted to let everyone know that she seems good. Moving around some in the incubator and fluffing up. She seems black. The other egg that was pipped last night hatched this morning. That leaves 3. I hope they hatch this is day 22 but I'd seriously prefer it to be during the day.

I couldn't find miss broody hen any chicks and she gave up on the replacement infertile egg before I could hatch any so she's gone back into the main flock.
Tomorrow evening is lockdown!

First, the good news:
I'd taken the top off the last rhodebar egg before bed last night and left it, assuming because it was upside down I'd have to help it out this morning. But it made its way out overnight! Seems to be a boy.

Also, the blue marans chick is looking better!

The problematic news is now that the first rhodebar female from this hatch (the one I intended to keep, and the only one in this clutch that had no problems hatching) seems to have sustained an injury. I left it and the opal legbar under a heat pad in a cardboard box in the care of my partners while I went to assist the last egg. When I came back they joked about how the cat had jumped in the box but the chicks were all accounted for. They were both there and alive, but I noticed a few minutes later that the rhodebar female no longer stands up straight. She just lays on her belly, almost like splay leg. I can't figure out exactly what the injury is.

My assisted fluff seems to be doing good very wobbly still but it’s Sebright friend is still wobbly too I’m glad I have that one to compare to because it hatched only a bit earlier and is still acting tired like my assisted one.

I just candled my remaining 6 or so eggs 2 are still moving and haven’t internally pipped but all the others are not moving but seem developed. I really want to know what Went wrong. The air cells look very large maybe it’s shrink wrapping? Can any be saved I left them in there. I’m blaming myself because it’s my first time and my humidity has really been up and down maybe I’ve been keeping it too low during lock down? Does anyone know what a candled egg that’s shrink wrapped looks like?

I'd start putting some viewing holes in the top of the eggs. It may turn into an eggtopsy, but start it like an assist.

The D20 ones should definitely be fine. The D12 ones will probably depend on how long it was like that. But I think up to a couple hours probably fine -- it takes a little while for the internal temp of the egg to shift.

They will probably be ok. 96°F isn't that cool so if it wasn't for long you might not even see much of a delay but the worst I would expect is a slightly later hatch.

No external pips on my olive eggers yet but they're not really due till this evening anyway. My husband clucked at them this morning and we heard some peeps from inside the shells.
